Applying for a Place
Starting or choosing a school, or moving or school, are big steps and decisions. We think it is really important to visit a school – to ‘try before you buy’ as it were. We encourage parents and carers to come and see life at Isbourne Valley in action, and to bring children with them. Our video will give you a flavour of life at Isbourne Valley School and there is more information in our prospectus. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit. We look forward to welcoming you.
Admissions Arrangements
Our admission arrangements are determined by Gloucestershire County Council. The document below provides further information. You can also find details for the next couple of years on the 'policies' page of the documents tab.

Joining in Reception
All applications for Reception places are managed by the Local Authority (LA). Applications are made via the relevant pages on the Gloucestershire County Council website. The deadline for making your application is usually in mid-January each year, in preparation for your four-year-old starting school in the September of that year. Our Office Team are always on hand to point you in the right direction if you need them. We can admit 15 children into the Reception year. If more than 15 applications are received, the LA then decides which children should be offered places.

In-Year Applications
Children sometimes, for all sorts of reasons, move between schools part-way through an academic year, or part-way through their primary school years. When this happens, we want to make this process as smooth as possible for children and their families. At Lakeside, we are experienced with this and focus on supporting the smoothest transition possible for your child. If you are considering an in-year move, please get in touch with the School Office to start the conversation with us, arrange a time to visit our school and meet us. If we have a space in the necessary year group, we will be able to support you with the next steps and paperwork. If the year group is full, we can explain our waiting-list process.
